  • Biography

    Natália Schwether holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from São Paulo State University (UNESP). She completed postdoctoral fellowships in Military Sciences at the Brazilian Army Command and General Staff School (ECEME) and in Political Science at UFPE. Since 2024, she has been a postdoctoral research fellow funded by FAPESC, focusing her research on the global governance of artificial intelligence.

Abstract

 

How has the United Kingdom organized itself to confront threats in cyberspace? This study, exploring primary and secondary sources, reveals the orchestration of British strategic security and defense documents, which guide joint action across the five operational domains, with a focus on cyberpower.

Cryptocurrencies and Cybercrime: Political and International Challenges in the Digital Age

    Rickiã Gabriel de Magalhães Rodrigues is a master’s student in Political Science at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), where also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (2023). Main research focuses on international political economy, monetary and fiscal policy, interest groups, and cryptocurrencies.

Abstract

 

How do different regulatory jurisdictions address the international security challenges posed by the intersection of cryptocurrencies and cybercrime? This article examines how the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Singapore regulate cryptocurrencies to address cybercrime. By comparing policies, it shows that while all recognize the global threat, their approaches vary widely ranging from strict controls to cooperative frameworks. This lack of alignment creates gaps criminals can exploit. The study highlights the urgent need for stronger, coordinated international governance to ensure financial and digital security.

    Prof. Ricardo Borges Gama Neto.  Departamento de Ciência Política (DCP) da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Professor de vários programas de pós-graduação, escreveu artigos sobre teoria politica, métodos quantitativos, instituições políticas e guerra cibernética.

Abstract

 

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar a integração entre drones e inteligência artificial (IA) e suas implicações para os conflitos contemporâneos. Adota-se uma abordagem exploratória e histórico-analítica, revisitando o desenvolvimento dos drones e da IA, desde suas origens até aplicações atuais. Os resultados destacam o papel crescente dessas tecnologias na transformação de táticas, estratégias e capacidades de comando e controle, com destaque para conflitos recentes, como a guerra russo-ucraniana. A principal contribuição do estudo é evidenciar como a convergência entre drones e IA amplia o alcance militar, acelera a tomada de decisões e aprofunda desigualdades tecnológicas entre países desenvolvidos e periféricos.

O artigo analisa a crescente intersecção entre inteligência artificial (IA) e Poder Aeroespacial, destacando sua influência na tomada de decisão, vigilância, comunicações e operações militares. O presente estudo aborda aplicações em conflitos contemporâneos e discute como IA e aprendizado de máquina (ML) incrementam missões de Inteligência, Vigilância e Reconhecimento (IVR), comunicações satelitais e consciência situacional espacial.
